◆ About potpourri insects

Q.I heard that herbs and medicinal ingredients sometimes attract small insects. Are there quality issues?
A. Small insects called "potpourri insects" may appear in herbs and medicinal ingredients, which are natural products, especially in the summer (June to October). This is a kind of beetle, and it is a small reddish brown insect about 1 to 3 mm in size that sticks to cereals and dried foods that are not heat-treated (eg rice, wheat, herbs, health tea). Also known as "mint bug". It is not an insect that occurs because the environment is unsanitary. It is said that even if you accidentally put it in your mouth, it will not have any adverse effects on the human body. As a countermeasure, after opening, it is recommended to put it in a sealed container and store it in a cool and dark place (refrigerator). Especially in the summer, it is a bug that is easy to grow, so please avoid places with high temperature and humidity that are exposed to direct sunlight.
